The White Cottage in Harvey Road is one of the earliest dwellings in Charlotteville. Believed to have been built in the early 19th century as a two rooms up and two rooms down with a cellar, further rooms were added by the 1860s and apart from modernisation, remains much as it was then in structure.

The chimneys were removed during the 1970s, as was a crumbling wall which was replaced with a white fence. The garden was redesigned 15 years ago.
