The Parade

Weather Threatens but Hundreds turn out

The Parade started at the Addison Court end of Addison Road, (where our village hall and church used to be).  It proceeded down Addison Road, turning right into Cooper and then right into Cline Road for the opening ceremony.  

The procession stopped at the houses of various residents to encourage them to come out and join the fun.  Many elderly residents who had intended to stay home were soon keen to join the parade, many of them staying on for longer than expected at the party!

The parade was led by The Queen dressed as Australian singer Paul Dillon.  She called on a number of houses and bestowed at least one knighthood on her journey through the village.  Following her was her most trusty Corgi, Lillibet Rose Red (who really is descended from a Royal corgi five generations ago).
